Downtown Tucson
Tucson’s downtown area is undergoing revitalization to preserve the plazas, parks, walkways, and distinctly southwest-styled 19th century homes. Five of Tucson’s earliest homes are found in downtown in the El Presidio Historic District where the Leonardo Romero House serves as a museum. The homes are open to the public. Office buildings, museums and restaurants are within an easy walk of each other in downtown. Galleries abound in and around the Old Town Artisans art marketplace, near the Tucson Museum of Art. Performing arts venues are also found in the downtown area, including the Tucson Convention Center and the Temple of Music and Art.
